We are delighted to invite employers, learners and apprentices to submit nominations for this year’s Rochdale Training Learner Awards 2026.

An inspiring skills initiative is helping shape Rochdale’s future apprentices as the M&G Skills for Life programme returns for its third year during National Apprenticeship Week 2026.

Learner Success Story: Tylar Green

Tylar Green has successfully moved into employment in the care sector after completing a Health and Social Care course with Rochdale Training Association (RTA).

Before joining RTA, Tylar had been unemployed for six months and struggled to secure work due to a lack of qualifications and experience. Despite a strong interest in health and social care, repeated applications were unsuccessful, which impacted confidence and motivation.

After being referred through the Jobcentre, Tylar enrolled at RTA and quickly began building skills, confidence, and sector knowledge. Alongside gaining recognised qualifications, Tylar received tailored support from RTA’s Career Progressions Officer, including a refreshed CV that clearly reflected new skills and career goals. Within one week, this led to two interviews and a job offer in the care sector.
