Job Overview

Inspire the Next Generation of Engineers

Rochdale Training Association has been a provider of results-focused, top-quality business training for nearly 60 years. We work with learners of all levels and companies of all sizes across the North West, supporting individuals and employers to achieve real, measurable success.

We are now looking for an enthusiastic Engineering Tutor to support apprentices throughout their learning journey. You will deliver high-quality teaching, assessment and mentoring, helping learners develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to successfully complete their Engineering apprenticeship and progress into employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging teaching, workshops and one-to-one support in-centre and in the workplace
  • Support learners from initial assessment through to gateway and End Point Assessment (EPA)
  • Plan and deliver schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources
  • Assess skills, knowledge and behaviours in line with apprenticeship standards
  • Mark and assesss learners work giving constructive feedback on how to improve
  • Embed and assess Functional Skills where appropriate
  • Prepare learners for exams, mock assessments and EPA
  • Carry out regular (10-weekly) learner and employer reviews
  • Produce and maintain individualised training plans and accurate learner records (OneFile)

Employer & Learner Engagement

  • Liaise with employers to meet apprenticeship and training needs
  • Coordinate off-the-job training with workshop tutors
  • Build strong relationships with employers and keep them engaged throughout the programme
  • Provide effective Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) during and at the end of the programme

Quality, Safeguarding & Compliance

  • Deliver learner inductions covering assessment, quality assurance, EPA, equality and H&S
  • Monitor learner progress, retention and motivation, implementing interventions where required
  • Work closely with the Quality team and respond to IQA/Ofsted feedback
  • Promote Equality Diversity and Inclusivity, Safeguarding, Prevent, British Values, Online Safety and Wellbeing
  • Maintain CPD and attend standardisation meetings

About You

Essential:

  • Occupational competence in Engineering (minimum Level 3)
  • Experience working with apprentices or learners
  • Knowledge of Apprenticeship Standards and Functional Skills
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to safeguarding

Desirable:

  • Assessor qualification (teaching or IV an advantage)
  • Experience of curriculum design and Ofsted inspections
