Lead, Inspire and Drive Engineering Excellence
Rochdale Training Association has delivered results-focused, high-quality training for nearly 60 years, working with learners of all levels and employers of all sizes across the North West.
We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Engineering Manager (Engineering) to lead and develop our Engineering provision. This is a senior role with responsibility for quality, performance, finance, health & safety and stakeholder engagement across a diverse portfolio of programmes.
The Role
Reports to: Chief Executive
Responsible for: Engineering staff, workshops and provision
As Delivery Manager (Engineering), you will:
- Lead and manage the Engineering Department, including Apprenticeships, Adult Skills, Alternative Provision, HNC/D and future contracted provision
- Drive achievement, retention, progression and timely completion across all programmes
- Lead on Quality Improvement, ensuring provision is inclusive and enables all learners to achieve and thrive
- Act as Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) and Centre Co-ordinator for Awarding Bodies
- Oversee End Point Assessment (EPA) preparation for all Engineering learners
- Manage departmental budgets and improve financial performance
- Oversee Health & Safety compliance within the Engineering workshop
Leadership, Quality & Performance
You will:
- Line manage Engineering staff, including appraisals, one-to-ones and team meetings
- Monitor QI reports, implementing interventions where required
- Lead Self-Assessment Reports (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plans (QIP)
- Carry out learning walks, observations and quality reviews
- Maintain compliance with funding, Ofsted and awarding body requirements
- Lead and support EQA and Ofsted visits
Stakeholder & Employer Engagement
You will build and maintain strong relationships with:
- Employers and industry partners
- Ofsted, DfE, DWP, GMCA and Awarding Bodies
- Internal teams, subcontractors and associates
You will also promote Rochdale Training Association and its Engineering provision externally.
Safeguarding, Equality & Compliance
You will:
- Promote Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, Safeguarding and Prevent
- Ensure learner attendance and engagement is monitored and followed up
- Maintain high standards of communication, professionalism and compliance
About You
Essential Experience & Knowledge:
- Senior-level leadership or management experience
- Strong knowledge of Apprenticeships, Adult Skills, HNC/D and Alternative Provision
- Experience of Quality Improvement and inspection frameworks
- Health & Safety management experience within an engineering environment
- Experience of safeguarding and Prevent
Qualifications (desirable):
- Teaching qualification
- Assessing qualification
- IQA qualification
- Level 5 Management qualification
- Level 5 NEBOSH
- Engineering qualification or apprenticeship to at least Level 3
