An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the dedicated team at Middleton Nursery School as an Early Years Educator Apprentice. This role is ideal for someone who already holds a Level 2 Early Years qualification and is looking to develop their career whilst completing a Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

As an Early Years Educator Apprentice, you will play an important role in supporting children's learning and development whilst working towards your Level 3 qualification. You will work closely with experienced practitioners to provide high-quality care and education, helping children to develop confidence, independence and essential life skills through engaging play-based learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children's learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote children's learning through play.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
  • Observe, assess and record children's progress.
  • Encourage children's communication, language, confidence and independence.
  • Promote children's emotional, physical, social and intellectual development.
  • Assist with children's personal care routines whilst promoting independence.
  • Help maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
  • Maintain accurate learning journals and observations.
  • Work as part of a professional and supportive nursery team.
  • Support children with additional needs where required.
  • Promote positive behaviour and model excellent practice.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training and continuous professional development.
  • Carry out general nursery duties as required.

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Early Years Educator Level 3

Your training plan

You will complete the Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship through Rochdale Training.

Your apprenticeship will include:

  • Child development from birth to five years.
  • Planning and delivering learning through play.
  • Observation, assessment and planning.
  • Safeguarding and child protection.
  • Supporting speech, language and communication.
  • Health, safety and wellbeing.
  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Partnership working with parents and professionals.
  • Equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Professional practice within Early Years.
  • Functional Skills (if required).
  • End Point Assessment.

You will receive regular support from both Rochdale Training and experienced practitioners within Middleton Nursery School.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

  • Level 2 Early Years Practitioner qualification (or equivalent).
  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths (or willingness to complete Functional Skills if required).
