Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Working as part of a small, friendly team in Rochdale town centre, you will support the compliance process for new and existing education candidates, ensuring all safeguarding and regulatory requirements are met accurately and on time.

Your duties will include:

  • Processing DBS applications
  • Chasing references and gathering outstanding documentation
  • Completing right-to-work and qualification checks
  • Updating and maintaining candidate records on the CRM system
  • General data entry and administrative duties
  • Completing safeguarding and compliance documentation
  • Making professional phone calls to candidates and occasionally schools
  • Ensuring paperwork is completed accurately and efficiently
  • Supporting the wider team with general administrative tasks

This role requires confidence on the phone, strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. There is genuine progression available into a Recruitment Consultant role for candidates who demonstrate commitment, professionalism and potential.

Your training plan

You will complete the Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Training will include:

  • Structured off-the-job training with Rochdale Training
  • Development of administrative, organisational and compliance skills
  • Understanding safeguarding and regulatory processes within education recruitment
  • Communication and customer service skills
  • Functional Skills in Maths and English (if required)
  • End Point Assessment

Essential qualifications

  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above in Maths (essential)
  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English (essential)
