Business Admin Apprenticeship - SMS Coaching

 

Summary

SMS staff have the responsibility for promoting the safeguarding and welfare of children. All school staff should be aware of the school’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and work in accordance with this document at all times. Staff may be asked to work across any of the SMS sites. The above responsibilities are subject to the general duties and responsibilities contained in the statement of Conditions of Employment. This job description allocates duties and responsibilities but does not direct the particular amount of time to be spent on carrying them out and no part of it may be so construed. Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

 

What you’ll do at work

As a Business Admin Apprentice, you will work closely with the team to support daily operations. Your main duties will include:

To act as Personal Assistant to the Head Teacher and other members of SLT as required.

To record daily attendance for staff and students

To manage SIMS

To be responsible for booking transport and liaising with transport companies

To provide general customer service in the school office

To be responsible for all exams administration as directed by the Exams Officer

To be responsible for the management of general administration duties, ensuring the provision of an effective and efficient service

To manage any enquiries through social media

Ensure the production of high-quality materials.

To assist senior members of staff with the planning and organisation of various events and activities e.g. Awards and Presentation Evenings.

Ensure the production of high-quality materials.

To provide confidential and proactive administrative support to the Head teacher, including managing diary/appointments, composition and preparation of letters, reports and other documents as required.

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

About this company

SMS Thrive is our specialist holistic support site for young people with a higher level of need. Young people who access Thrive may have ASC or social communication difficulties or experience high levels of anxiety and benefit from or more fixed routine and less transitions. Based in Chadderton, Thrive can offer the flexibility to support students who may require a reduced curriculum or more bespoke subjects. Students at Thrive have a class teacher who will deliver most core subjects. This reduces transitions and allows for a much calmer environment. Vocational options are available in the afternoons and are delivered by specialist staff.
