Rochdale Training provide a range of employment-related training including, Apprenticeships, Employability, Adult Learning, Study Programmes and work experience opportunities for adults and young people from diverse backgrounds. In our most recent Ofsted inspection, we were graded "Good" across all areas.
Main purpose:
The ideal candidate will provide an effective and efficient learner recruitment service to our learners in the community. You will work closely with referral partners, including the Department for Work and Pensions and the National Careers Service, Community Centres, and Ingeus, building positive working relationships and keeping key contacts informed of available learner opportunities at Rochdale Training.
You will support learners to progress into work and higher levels of training. This could include working with employers to arrange interviews for our learners, researching new employment opportunities, and running CV/Application workshops.
You will put our learners at the forefront of your activity, ensuring eligibility and suitability for our courses. You will engage with a wide range of people, using your excellent communication and customer service skills to engage with our referring partners and our learners. You will be organised and proactive, with good attention to detail and able to keep timely and accurate records.
Hours:
Full-time, Mon- Thurs (09:00-17:30), Fri (09:00-16:30)
Key Responsibilities:
- To recruit a minimum of 15 learners every week onto relevant training programmes
- Liaise with key partners across Rochdale and Greater Manchester including, Job Centre Plus, Positive Steps, Ingeus, Youth Hubs, Voluntary Sectors, Community Centres etc
- Liaising with other departments/colleagues regarding expected learner numbers/course attendance
- To carry out pre-screen interviews with the candidates, providing effective Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to ensure you match the right candidates to the right course
- Compliance checking enrolment paperwork and documents to ensure they meet eligibility requirements
- To follow up with all applicants, promptly, referring to alternative provision where appropriate
- To attend careers fairs, school open evenings and any other learner recruitment events as needed.
- To maintain accurate records on systems/trackers as needed
- Obtain prior learning records (PLR) for applicants checking for prior learning and confirming eligibility
- To assist and support other members of the recruitment team
- Produce weekly/monthly reports as needed
Must-Have:
- Excellent customer service
- Driving licence and own transport
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Good organisational skills with an ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
Desirable:
- Experience in a recruitment/sales environment
- Experience within a training or education environment
- A qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance
- Knowledge of government-funded programmes
