Q&A with Apprentice, Stephanie from Blue Pits

Why did you choose to do an Apprenticeship?

I chose to do an Apprenticeship so I could gain more knowledge in my job role. I also wanted the experience so that I develop the skills that I need to do my job to the best of my abilities.

What skills have you developed while you have been on your Apprenticeship?

I have learned a lot. I am now able to liaise with different services that correlate with my role, and I have grown in personal confidence massively as well. I also have now taken on the ‘Welcome Home’ discharge scheme, and I am more confident in creating the timetables needed. When I started my job role, I was a Support Worker and now I am a Senior Support Worker. I have developed the skills needed to take that step up within the company, throughout my Apprenticeship qualification.

How do you feel Rochdale Training was as your Training Provider?

Fantastic. Roxanne, my tutor, was brilliant whether I was running behind or struggling with anything she would sort out extra time for me to complete the work that needed doing, and she would also give me support along the way to make sure I understood what we covering. She always made me feel relaxed.

Would you recommend Apprenticeships to other people?

Yes definitely. They are a great way to get the initial skills, knowledge, and behaviours you need for whichever job you go into; and they help you to identify progression opportunities in the company you are working with.

Would you recommend Rochdale Training?

I would yes. I have learned so much and I feel like overall I am more confident, I still refer to everything I was taught when completing my daily tasks, I think about it from an Apprentice point of view in more depth, etc. (What does

“For us as an Employer, the support we receive from Rochdale Training makes them our go-to provider, they are brilliant. We have members of staff at all different levels of training, I have completed a Level 5 qualification with Rochdale Training. They are flexible, and the staff are supportive. We can’t speak highly enough about them.”
