Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
As an Engineering Operative Apprentice, you will be trained and supported to develop skills in a wide range of engineering disciplines including:
- Fabrication: Measuring, marking out, cutting, drilling and assembling components.
- Machining: Operating lathes, milling machines and other tools to produce precision components.
- Fitting: Assembling, installing and maintaining machinery and equipment.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment at all times.
- Following health & safety regulations and company procedures.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with a practical mindset and an interest in mechanical and manufacturing processes.

· The role will involve manual work in a workshop environment. · You will be expected to wear PPE and follow strict health & safety rules. · May involve standing for long periods and working with machinery.
