Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

As an Engineering Apprentice at Metool Ltd, you will work within the production team and be trained in a variety of fabrication and machining techniques. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Learning how to set up and operate tube-bending machinery
  • Supporting drilling and tapping operations on components
  • Operating a press brake for sheet metal forming
  • Following technical drawings and instructions to produce high-quality work
  • Using measuring equipment to check the accuracy and quality of work
  • Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment
  • Assisting experienced engineers with day-to-day production tasks
  • Following all health and safety requirements at all times
  • Recording tasks and progress in line with apprenticeship requirements

This role will give you excellent exposure to practical engineering skills within a supportive and professional workshop environment.

  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade Grade 3/D or above) essential

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE Science or Technical Subjects (Grade Grade 4/C or above) desirable
