BASIC HEALTH AND SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE TRAINING

Who is this course aimed at?

This qualification focuses on the importance of maintaining health and safety and ensuring that employee actions reduce risks in the workplace. It is intended for learners working in any workplace environment, including retail, manufacturing, food premises and the care environment. It is also suitable for those who are returning to work or starting work for the first time.

 

Content:

Learners will gain a sound introduction to all aspects of health and safety including legislation, fire procedures, chemical safety, manual handling and personal protective equipment. It is ideal as an introduction to general health and safety for any environment.

Aims and Objectives of the course:

Learners will:

  • Understand the importance of health and safety in the workplace
  • Understand the scope of hazards and risks in the workplace
  • Understand the range of workplace conditions that can affect health and safety
  • Understand the requirements for workplace procedures

Method: 

Classroom tuition.  The qualification is assessed via on-going oral and/or written questioning and practical demonstration.

Duration:

½  Day

Achievement: 

All successful students will be issued with a certificate of training.
