Apprentice Lifting Equipment Engineer

Short Vacancy Description:

This is an Apprentice role. It is a full-time role that requires basic mechanical skills and physical load lifting. You will also maintain, service, inspect & test all types of lifting equipment. Including powered hoists and winches.

Main Duties to Include:

  • Service, repair, inspection & testing of lifting equipment.
  • Various mechanical and electrical hoists, hydraulic jacks, shackles and webbing slings.
  • Also, assembly of chain slings & wire rope sling assemblies.

Your training will consist of in-house posting with lead engineer, and manufacturers courses.

This is a varied role with a high level of physical heavy-lifting work

Qualifications:

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade C / 4 and above) essential

Hours: 

Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Progression:

Once qualified, progression is offered to the right candidate, this could be a full-time position. 

Training:

  • Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard.
  • Apprenticeship learning will take place in the workplace and at Rochdale Training on day release 
  • Product training

You will be working in cold damp conditions both inside & outside.
