Maintenance Engineer Apprentice - Leidos UK LTD (Manchester Airport)
Short Vacancy Description:
Under direct supervision, you will learn & performs a wide variety of technical duties to ensure our aviation product range is compliant with industry best practice. The First 6-months of training program will involve working within the Service team, and other relevant departments at Manchester Airport and Commissioning/ Install teams.
Full Vacancy Description:
To complete a 4-year apprenticeship program and attain a ‘competency qualification’ within the Electrical / Electronic “Mechatronics” pathway of the apprenticeship standard whilst attending college on a day release basis and/or as required.
The duties and responsibilities may change from time to time without notice and include but are not limited to the duties described below;
- Competently use Test Equipment (DVM, Radiation meters and PAC tester)
- To attend internal product training
- Training to perform assembly tasks
- To assist in the repair & maintenance of Security & Detection
- Systems within Field Service
- Training to wire electrical control cabinets
- Training to understand GA drawings and Electrical documentation.
- Attendance at college on a day-release basis leading to attainment of Engineering Technician Level 3 qualification
- Working across all departments to achieve a complete understanding of the Service, Manufacturing / Engineering processes
Qualifications:
- GCSE Maths & English (Grade 4) essential
Hours:
Monday to Friday - Shifts to be confirmed.
Total hours per week: 39 hours a week
Salary:
£16,000 a year
Progression:
- Progression offered to the right candidate.
Training:
- Training will take place both on-site at Manchester Airport and weekly day release at the Rochdale Training. Candidates need to ensure that they can attend both sites.
