This course is aimed at satisfying the training and competence requirements of those mounting and using abrasive wheels in relation to the legal obligations placed on employees under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER).

Course Content
Participants will cover:
- Understanding the legal implications of working with abrasive wheel equipment
- Describing the main causes and effects of accidents with this equipment
- Describing correctly the main characteristics of abrasive wheels from information given by the manufacturer
- Recognising correctly unsatisfactory wheel condition, machine condition and related tooling condition
- Understanding requirements in relation to wheel guarding
- Mounting abrasive wheel correctly
- Trueing and dressing abrasive wheels demonstrating recognition of requirements and correct technique
- Balancing abrasive wheels correctly
- Understanding the correct techniques for handling and storing abrasive wheels
