Here are details of our 2005 Apprentices of the Year
The 2005 Administrative Apprentice of the Year was
Emma Cliffe from Mears

Emma left school and was struggling to find work until she came to Rochdale Training. We found her employment as an administrative assistant and she worked with such enthusiasm she completed her first stage Apprenticeship in record time. She then progressed onto the Advanced Apprenticeship and successfully achieved this too. Emma has now gained promotion at work and a 25% pay rise. Jill Nagy, the Training Manager for the Business department said, "Emma worked hard and achieved quickly and was always positive, even under difficult circumstances. Mears - her company - are delighted with her and asked if I can find them more Emma's!"
The 2005 Engineering First Year Apprentice of the Year was
Justin Fletcher of John Bradley & Sons (Springs) Ltd.

Justin left school at 16 and gained employment with one of our local companies. He did 12 months on-the-job training at Rochdale Training in which time he completed his level 2 NVQ with extra merits. Ernie Curzon Workshop Manager at Rochdale Training said, "Throughout his training Justin proved to be one of the most polite and conscientious trainees we have had. Nothing was too much for him and that's why he is out apprentice of the year. He is currently working towards his level 3 NVQ with Bradleys and we wish him well for the future."
The 2005 Engineering Apprentice of the Year was
William Orr of Ken Mills Engineering.

William started his Advanced Modern Apprenticeship with Rochdale Training in August 2001. He spent the first year in our engineering workshop completing an NVQ level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations and five Key Skills at level 2. The next 3 years of his apprenticeship training took place in company, under the guidance of Rochdale Training, working towards an NVQ level 3 in Engineering Production. Throughout his 4 years of training he attended Hopwood Hall College on a day release basis working towards a Higher National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
William said, "I enjoyed my apprenticeship with Rochdale Training and would recommend it to any school leaver who wants to be paid a wage while they are being trained."
The 2005 Adult Learner of the Year was
Janet Ashley of Westshield.

Janet Ashley is the Office Manager at Westshield in Chadderton. Janet has achieved her NVQ level 3 in Management. Not only did she complete her own qualification but she facilitated six of her team to gain their NVQs. Jill Nagy the Business Training Manager states: "Janet has such an enthusiastic attitude to training that she inspired her staff to achieve too. She has engendered a fantastic team spirit in her company."
