NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing
Course Overview
This course is part of the standard entry route to a career in plumbing and heating installation
Who is this course aimed at?
This course is for plumbing trainees who have access to plumbing site experience through employment. It also forms the main qualification in the Advanced Modern Apprenticeship. You should normally have achieved an NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing before enrolling on to the level 3.
Modules
• Systems planning
• Design and installation theories of hot and cold water systems, sanitary systems and central heating systems.
• Complex cold water systems
• Complex domestic hot water systems
• Design and installation of the complex hot water systems and the skills to maintain them.
• Complex sanitation systems
• Central heating systems
• Installation and service boilers and central heating systems
• Plumbing studies core underpinning knowledge
• Employment rights and responsibilities
• Plan and maintain hot and cold water systems, sanitary systems and central heating systems
• Customer service
This module is measured by your practical work and the way you have conducted yourself at work. It helps students learn how to make contacts within the industry in order to get contracts.
ACS Gas Safety assessment is also required to be completed in order to achieve NVQ Level 3 plumbing qualification.
This qualification will provide an apprentice plumber with the required formal skills and knowledge to become a qualified plumber.
