This course deals specifically with the handling of people and is relevant to healthcare workers/providers. It follows a minimal handling, lifting policy and importantly risk assessment.

This is designed to ensure compliance with Mandatory Training Requirements and will be tailored to suit the training needs of the organisation. The moving and handling sessions are designed to ensure that staff are trained in the most effective, relevant and economic way, taking into account organisational time constraints

The course is designed for all carers who need to left/handle people.
Course Content
On completion of the course delegates will know how to move people safely, so that moving and handling risks are reduced to the lowest level by covering the following:
Risk assessment
Principles of handling people in a care environment
Assisting mobility
Assisting people in chairs
Assisting people in bed
The use of handling aids.
Certification
After successful completion of the course and examination a certificate valid for three years is then issued.
