Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships
For over 40 years Rochdale Training has produced some of the best apprentices in the area, many of whom are now in significant and contributory positions within local companies. Some even, having trained with us themselves, come back to us every year for new apprentices to work in their own companies, recognising the thorough grounding for a future career that comes from an apprenticeship with us.
So whether you’re considering taking on an apprentice for the first time or continuing a company policy of regular recruitment, Rochdale Training is the company to talk to.
After 40 years recruiting apprentices, we know what works best for many businesses like yours. We recruit and test all our apprentices and will provide a short list of candidates for you to make the final selection. This allows you to pick the best person for your company safe in the knowledge the young person has passed our rigorous selection process.
We offer both Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships in:

All initial training for your apprentice will be undertaken within our accredited Centre of Excellence – a purpose built training resource that gives apprentices first-hand experience using equipment and software similar to that they will use in the company. The centre also contains a number of study rooms where theoretical knowledge is delivered.
Throughout the apprenticeship period, our training officers will regularly monitor the apprentices to ensure that their training progress matches our and your requirements.
Achievement of Key Skills
Key Skills are those subjects not directly related to specific training, but are essential to function well within a modern company. These range from maths to literacy and computer/IT skills. The work required for this can be either completed within in the Centre or within your workplace.
Achievement of a Technical Certificate
This is usually completed in the Centre resulting in the achievement of a City and Guilds certificate. During the apprentice’s attendance at the centre, our Tutors will support candidates in order to achieve this qualification.
Employment Rights & Responsibilities
Completed as part of the Induction process.
What will it Cost?
Under current legislation all young people serving an apprenticeship must be of employed status (with the exception of programme led apprentices). In financial terms it means they should be paid the appropriate company rate of pay for apprentices and contractually employed on a full-time basis. This is the cost to employers.
All training within the apprenticeship framework is paid for by Rochdale Training using government funding.
