Functional Skills changed in September 2019 - this included some significant reforms (please see link below).
There was new content added for both English and maths.

Dictionaries and spell checks are no longer allowed on written papers (at all levels).  Also, for the first time, there is now a calculator and a non-calculator paper (at all levels).  

This split is 75% / 25% (as decided by Ofqual).

Maths and English functional skills

 The courses last approximately 12 to 15 weeks with classroom sessions lasting 2 to 2 ½ hours. The course will cover all the relevant content with plenty of exam practice towards the end of the course.

 Zoom sessions are still going to be an option for those learners that can not make it into centre or are still apprehensive about meeting in groups, although all the classrooms are Covid safe.

 To be eligible to enrol onto the course candidates will need to be 19+ and should not be on any other training programme. They will need to complete the enrolment form and initial assessments in both Maths and English. This can be done by either:
